The Darien YMCA Level 4 and 5 house team gymnasts competed in the Kristen Warner Invitational gymnastics meet at the Southington YMCA on
Saturday. Both levels were successful with the level 4s capturing the third-place team trophy and the level 5s bringing home fourth.
Within each level, medals were awarded by age groups for each apparatus and all-around. In the Level 4 nine-year-old group, Montana Osinski was the vaulting champion with a score of 8.8 while Meghan Sisk placed fifth.
In the 10-year-old group, Darien gymnasts were led by Hannah Knight, who tied for first place on bars with a 9.0, was fourth on beam and floor and placed third in the all-around competition; and Alexa Carrero, who was fifth all-around, third on bars and tied for second on beam with Kerry McDermott.

Charlotte Juan won the vault with a score of 9.05. Emma Koerner was sixth on both bars and floor while Emma Williams placed third on the balance beam. Sophia Font's strong vault earned a fifth place finish. Lily Fairleigh placed third on beam and fourth on floor in the 11-year–old age group.
In the 12 and over age group, Laura Germishuys placed third on bars, second on beam and floor and second in the all-around competition. Caroline Kiesling was third on beam and fourth on floor.
In Level 5, Natalie Bravo placed second on floor and beam and fourth all-around in the 10-year-old age group while Katie Weinberg took sixth on floor in the 11-year-olds.

In the 12-year-old group, Jennie Spellman placed fourth all-around, second on beam, third on bars and tied for third with her twin sister Caitlin on floor. Caitlin also tied for third place on beam with Meredith McCuskey, who won the bars title with a score of 9.0 and placed fifth all- around. Lydia Groves placed fourth on beam and fifth on floor.
In the 13-and-older group, Rachel Hardy won the floor title and placed second on vault, beam, bars and in the all-around. Morgan Taylor won the bars title, placing second on floor and third on vault, beam and all-around.

With just three games remaining in the girls basketball regular season, the final push for FCIAC playoff spots is under way.
(10-7, 9-6) is in a four-way tie for seventh with Stamford, Staples and Fairfield Warde, one game ahead of Westhill, which is 11th. The top eight finishers make the playoffs.
Coming off a big 33-28 victory over Wilton, the Blue Wave continues their playoff pursuit on Friday when they host Stamford at 7 p.m. Fairfield Warde hosts Ridgefield and Staples visits Trumbull, the No. 2 seed.
Stamford (9-8, 9-6) is coming off a 41-36 loss to Norwalk to fall into the four-way tie.
Darien, which probably needs to win two of its final three games to get in, closes the regular season next week with games against Warde and Bassick.
The Darien boys basketball team (2-13, 1-12) heads to Stamford (8-7, 7-6) for a 7 p.m. start.
Darien is coming off a 72-42 loss to Wilton while Stamford appears to be getting hot, The Black Knights posted a potentially crtical 64-56 victory over Norwalk on Tuesday for their third consecutive victory.
