Pictures: Halloween in Darien
A frighteningly fantastic time in the Noroton Heights neighborhood.
Oct. 31, 2009. All Hallows Eve brought mist and drizzle to Darien; but that didn't stop the trick-or-treaters from enjoying a ghoulishy good time. Hundreds of pint-sized fairies and monsters pounded the pavements of our Darien Patch, in search of some seriously sweet treats.
An annual tradition, the haunted house on Noroton Avenue opened its doors to rave reviews. Blood-red signs that read "Go Away!" and "Beware" didn't stop Darien's tiny tots from braving the fright-fest. There was a line out the door. Cups of blood and mud (cider and hot chocolate, respectively) went down well; children and adults alike were seen leaving with scary amounts of sweeties.
We're conducting a candy counting contest here at Patch (we want to beat New Canaan). Think you scored the most loot? Send over your candy-count (before you eat them all!) to cecelia@patch.com.
If you have Halloween photos of your own that you'd like to share, you can upload them right to this article. (Just click on the link under the photos that says "Add"). Or email them to us and we'll put them up for the community to see: cecelia@patch.com.
