STAMFORD: "The elderly should not have to pay anything to use the beaches, they helped build this country and now they should be able to appreciate it and use it. In some cities they have Oxygen Yoga programs (see the book 'Oxygen Yoga: A Spa Universe') for seniors on the beach for free. It is easy and something they can all do. Please give them a break." This is one reader's response to the Board of Representatives' decision to not increase the beach parking permit fee by $10.

TRUMBULL: "Is there documentation somewhere that validates this assumption that sewer usage is increased when one has a pool? First, homeowners with pools that have a sand filter are required to dig a dry well to accommodate backwashing. The rest of us have cartridge filters that don't require back wash. When exactly is our pool using the sewers? What's next, slip and slides?" This is one reader's response to news that WPCA is in the process of changing sewer usage billing from charges based on averaging to charges for actual consumption.

WESTON-REDDING-EASTON: "'Christians are upset with Starbucks for turning against God,' Steven Andrew, president of USA Christian Ministries, said. Not this Christian. And by my judgment I have been practicing Christianity much longer, and dare I say deeper, than MR. Andrew." This is one reader's response to news that some religious and political groups are urging Starbucks customers to grab their morning coffee elsewhere in light of the company's stance on gay marriage and its policy on guns.

WILTON: "Malloy gets a jump on Republicans that talk about shrinking government, but do nothing once voted in... so starts the Democratic wing of the Tea Party." This is one reader's response to news that Malloy is proposing to cut 25 state boards and commissions in an effort to shrink the size of the government.
