Stepping Stones: A Place for Kids 10 & Under on February Break

The interactive children's museum in Norwalk is a nearby spot where kids can explore and learn as they're having fun.

For kids on school break, Stepping Stones Museum for Children at Mathews Park in Norwalk offers a hands-on learning experience for kids while they have fun.

Manirah Agans, education manager at the museum said, "Education is always changing and morphing so we try to have something for everyone," including kids up to 10 years old.

The museum's ever-changing and travelling exhibits now encompass Energy Lab, Tot Town, Build It!, Healthyville, and ColorCoaster. Stepping Stones also hosts travelling exhibits, like the current attraction Run! Jump! Fly!

In the spirit of change, stepping Stones anticipate's the arrival of a new travelling exhibit this summer—Blue Man Group's—Making Waves. The new exhibit is said to be "a playful, multisensory exploration of sound and interactive entertainment for the whole family."

Stepping Stones also boasts a mutimedia gallery, "Celebration" courtyard, Art studio, Science lab, community garden, garden follies, and a family and teacher resource center.

Will Jeffries, a play explorer at Stepping Stones, says the children's museum serves 500 or more people on average per day, and 1,000 or more on school breaks. The facility is more than capable of handling the volume of guests with ease, he said.
