Arts Center Registration, Lacrosse Player Comes to Darien

Here's where to go or what to know about Darien for Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013:

• Fall registration is now open at the Darien Arts Center and the full Fall 2013 catalog is available for view at arts.darien.org.

• Hey Lacrosse fans: Lacrosse major league player Connor Martin, a midfielder for the Denver Outlaws (MLL) will be at Darien Sport Shop, 1127 Post Rd. in downtown Darien, from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday (apparently he's promoting Flow Society brand lacrosse apparel). You can meet him and get his autograph.

• Stories by the Pond series: Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. "A storytelling program for families at Darien's Tilley Pond Park. This program is co-sponsored by the Darien Parks and Recreation Department." -- from the Darien Library website

• The Connecticut Coalition Against Gun Violence will honor Gov. Dannel Malloy "in recognition of his bold leadership on the issue of gun violence in Connecticut," at an event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christ and Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Ln., Westport. U.S. Rep. Jim Himes and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal are expected to attend (the capacity for the room is 265).
