Distinctively Darien Showcases: Darien Toy Box
Yesterday, Al Filippone Associates realtors, Linda Blackwell, Kelly Finn, and myself, Tara Orfei, headed off to one of our favorite holiday spots in Darien, the Darien Toy Box.
We were greeted with open arms by the Owner/ Chief Toyman, Bill Jensen, and found ourselves looking like giants among all the little children playing with toys.
You could tell Bill Jensen was a child at heart, when he rode up to us on the Cyco Cyle, (half bike, half unicycle), considered to be one of the hottest toys of the season.

Mr. Jensen knows all the toys in his store. He personally selects each one, and if asked, he could tell you the history behind it. He gave us a word of advice when shopping this holiday season, "You want to find the toy that your child will play with for 30 minutes, rather than 30 seconds."
It was apparent while talking with Mr. Jensen that he was certainly the key to finding the perfect gift for any child, no matter what age or gender. This was the sort of expertise that was the essence of this weekend's Small Business Saturday.

Mr. Jensen opened the doors of the Darien Toy Box on May 12, 2008, stocking unique and innovative toys, traditional wooden toys, as well as challenging puzzles and logic games.
He will also be sponsoring Darien's Holiday Magic Event on December 1st, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Grove Street Plaza, where attendees will enjoy live music, hot cocoa, candy canes, and watch Santa come down the chimney at 5:00pm!
