A Party Befitting The Darien Library

The Imagination Gala fundraiser for the Darien Library was a beautiful and well attend event befitting our fantastic library.

We had a great time at the Imagination Gala fundraiser for the Darien Library this past Saturday.  The event committee did a fantastic job transforming the second floor into a beautiful and festive party scene with huge ferns adorning the tables holding items for the silent auction as gold fish swam in cleverly lit centerpieces.

I am told around 240 attended the party which raised funds for Library materials (as in all books, movies, computers, magazines, books on CD, information resources, and programs).   I cannot think of a more worthy cause than our beloved library which really serves as a community center for our town.

Not only is it one of the most highly-ranked and well-regarded libraries in the nation, the Darien Library also provides valuable services to our community by hosting informational programs, computer classes, children’s programs from toddlers to teens, as well as, extended hours when the town residents lose power.    Such a great town resources is worthy of a fancy gala and our continuing support.
