The Darien YMCA had another successful basketball season with 1,500 students grades K – 12 participating. Did you ever wonder what it takes to run a basketball program of this magnitude? The Darien YMCA used every court in town: every grammar school, the middle school, high school and of course the Y court. There were over 170 volunteer coaches to oversee the 1,500 students. 1,118 games were played over the 11 week season. Now those are some impressive stats!
“We could never do this without the amazing dedication of our volunteers and staff,” said Joe Marzano, Sports Director for the Darien YMCA. “It’s amazing to watch the community come together – and it’s a lot of fun!”
