The Allen O'Neill neighborhood reunion was a complete success! Rain didn't even stop us! The weather held out most of the day, but when the rain hit, it hit!! But we all pulled things together and continued the party. The band started an acoustic sing along that was even more fun! I saw people there I haven't seen for 35 years!! Hope we can do this again in the years to come!!!
P.S. So far the cracks in the sidewalks are still the same:(
P.S.S. Someone mentioned that they had posted guards at the gates of the worksite at Allen O'Neill the day of the party. If that was the case, I just want to tell who ever thought that was necessary, we weren't there to protest! we were there to remember the neighborhood how it use to be, not to see the devistation! I was only in town for a week and only went there once. It actually hurt to even drive by and look at it. My heart goes out to those that still have to live there and live in town and pass by that each day. That whole situation really gives new meaning to the phrase, "there goes the neighborhood!"
