Editor's note: This announcement was posted on behalf of the Darien Republican Town Committee:
On May 9, the Darien Republican Town Committee voted unanimously to endorse the re-nomination of Terrie Wood as our State Representative for the 141st District.
Terrie's nomination is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work representing Darien and Rowayton over the past four years.
Terrie's service on the Appropriations Committee and her understanding of the finances of the state makes her best suited to represent Republicans and fiscally conservative Democrats and Independents.
A moderate on social issues, she is known for her responsiveness and thoughtful approach to constituent needs, as well as a great working relationship with our top elected and town officials These traits were all on display during her joint efforts with our Selectmen to address affordable housing issues at the State level.
The liberal wing of the Democratic Party has controlled Hartford for the last year and a half, resulting in higher taxes, more regulation, a deteriorating business climate, and continued budget deficits.
In these difficult times, it is critical that we have a strong conservative voice in Hartford speaking out for Darien's interests, and seeking common sense solutions for Connecticut. Terrie Wood has a track record of doing exactly that.
We urge all Darien voters to support Terrie Wood's re-election for State Representative in the 141st.
The Darien Republican Town Committee
