Middlesex Middle School seventh and eighth grade students recently traveled to Darien High School auditorium to enjoy a concert by Puerto Rican singer Ennio Emmanuel.
Ennio is a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter whose work encompasses the musical genres of Latin, electronica, pop and rock.
The students, who were primarily part of MMS’ Spanish Language Program, danced and cheered in the audience and enthusiastically volunteered to join Ennio on stage to play instruments and dance.
This special event was part of Ennio’s OJALÁ tour and is one of over 75 shows in various venues scheduled across the U.S.
This concert series focuses on promoting the study of Spanish language and culture through music and providing a fresh sound with a positive message to the youth of America.
Ennio is also passionate about assisting with humanitarian causes and has traveled around the world helping with international relief and community development endeavors.
One of the positive and motivating messages Ennio conveys at his high-energy concerts is that anyone and everyone should do their part in assisting those in need.
