Ox Ridge third graders Olivia Grace Pistone (left) and Charly Covello attended the first YWCA Mom & Me Book Club meeting this fall.
Mothers and daughters take turns hosting at their homes and meet once a month from September to May.
The Mom & Me Book Club gives girls a safe environment to discuss ideas, strengthens the bond between mother and daughter, emphasizes the importance and fun of reading, and provides role models for the girls' interactions.
The book club is open to third graders and their mothers. There is also a separate group for fourth grade girls and their mothers.
