For the fifth consecutive year, Robeks Juice is partnering with SpinOdyssey 2012 in the fight against breast cancer.
Cheryl Curthoys, owner of Robeks in Darien, at 883 Post Rd., has joined forces with Fairfield owner Kasia Seremet to form Team Robeks, a group of indoor cyclists who will ride and raise funds at SpinOdyssey, the fun and fitness fundraiser for American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research and Norwalk Hospital’s Whittingham Cancer Center.
SpinOdyssey 2012 takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 4 at Intensity Fitness & Tennis Club, 490 Westport Ave., Norwalk.
Additionally, Robeks in Norwalk will be serving up fresh-squeezed orange juice and energizing low calorie smoothies to participants and volunteers at the event, which also features Zumba, Yoga, Body Pump, and tennis.
“Robeks is proud to ride, raise funds, and contribute our products as part of SpinOdyssey’s effort to fund research that will put an end to breast cancer,” stated Ms. Curthoys. “We encourage our customers, and other local residents who have been touched by this disease, to consider contributing to our team.”
Supporters can contribute to Team Robeks via its fundraising page, or by making a $1 donation at Robeks stores in Darien or Fairfield.
SpinOdyssey co-chair Patty Kondub said, “Thanks to the
generosity of community partners like Robeks, SpinOdyssey has been able to raise more than $3 million dollars for the cause. We are deeply grateful to Robeks for its support of our efforts, both in terms of fundraising and in helping keep participants nourished and hydrated during the event.”
Participants can register individually or as part of a team by clicking the registration link at www.spinodyssey.org. Indoor cyclists can register to ride for two, three or six hour shifts between 9 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. They can also choose to register for a number of “off the bike” fitness
activities, detailed at www.spinodyssey.org.
