This year’s Indie Merchant Gift Guide by Entrepreneur Magazine includes the "Doggy Dickey," a dog neckwarmer developed by former Darien resident Lindsey McGraw.
McGraw, a 2000 alumna of Darien High School and owner of the small business American Dog Apparel, said she was honored by the guide's inclusion of her product.
The Doggy Dickey was the only winter-centric and apparel-based item on the list of "Best Pet Gifts" at the magazine's website, Entrepreneur.com.
Doggy Dickey Data
Thin coated, senior and small dogs become cold easier than their fluffy counterparts and often need some assistance from dog apparel during cooler weather. The Doggy Dickey is a new accessory to meet this need.
Consisting of a high collar, chest plate and adjustable hook & loop straps sewn from thick polyester fleece, The Doggy Dickey slips over the dog’s head, wraps under the front legs, and closes on the back. The collar has a slit for the leash and leaves the back open for a harness.
During blustery days the dickey acts as a vest. In cold wintery weather the dickey is a great layering piece to wear under coats for warmth and protection where dogs need it most—around the heart and lungs.
Completely sourced and made in America, The Doggy Dickey fits Chihuahuas to Great Danes.
The Doggy Dickey available at local pet boutiques and online.
