Veggiecation Program & Whole Foods Market Kids Culinary Classes

The Veggiecation Program and at select locations in Connecticut are working together so that kids have a busy and healthy summer. Using fresh summer fruits and veggies, kids will prepare Green Leaf Salad with Berries and Balsamic Vinaigrette and Simple, Nut-Free Basil Pesto.  As practiced in participating classrooms throughout the country, kids will be invited to help prepare Veggiecation Program’s recipes, sample culinary creations, experience vegetables in their raw form and cast a vote on how they liked the recipes.  Kids will take home complimentary character coloring pages, word games, mazes and stickers.  Parents will receive a copy of recipes created that day.

A curriculum based nutrition education concept developed for classrooms and at home, Veggiecation Program’s success with kids lies in the engaging activities that empower children with their food choices while demonstrating that eating vegetables is fun and delicious.
