Blue Wave Booster Club Purchases High Jump Pit for DHS

The Blue Wave Booster Club (BWBC) is pleased to announce that the new high jump pit was recently delivered at Darien High School, and it has been seeing a lot of use so far by both the boy’s and girl’s teams. “A critical component for practice and training”, noted Coach Tyson Kaczmarek, “ it is an important tool used by athletes on both the winter (indoor) and spring teams.”  Already having an impact – high jumper Nick Lombardo set a new record at the New Haven Invitational last month with a jump of 6 - 7, then last week he shattered his own school record again in Wilton with a mark of 6-feet, 8-inches.

Formed in 2006, the BWBC raises funds to provide assistance to the Darien High School Athletic Program, to foster sportsmanship and school spirit among students, parents, teachers, and staff, and to develop an interest in and awareness of athletics at DHS within the town community.
