Chimneys

So the weather is turning colder, and our thoughts turn to warm cozy nights in front of the fireplace, but is it safe? Do you know how to use it properly? Has it ever been checked by a Certified Chimney sweep company?

Some issues you might have, "it smokes when I try to light a fire", "I have odors for days after my fire is out", "when I use the fireplace I get smoke in another fireplace in an other room" So how do you trust a Chimney Sweep in your home after hearing horror stories? You can find a Certified Chimney Sweep and www.csia.org, (there you can search by zip code for every sweep with in 50 miles) look for a company with additional training (it shows they want to learn more to help serve their customers better) like Chimney Physics (why a chimney works the way it does) and Lining Masonry Chimneys (fixing unsafe chimneys when found). Just like a good Mechanic or Electrician, finding the right Sweep will help keep your home and family safe.
