DARIEN ARTS CENTER OPENS FALL REGISTRATION

DARIEN, CT., August 9, 2013 – Fall registration is now open at the Darien Arts Center and the full Fall 2013 catalog is available for view at arts.darien.org. There are a variety of opportunities for all age groups, from infants to adults, including classes in music, theatre, visual arts, and dance.

For those with a musical inclination, classes include singing, private music lessons in piano, guitar and violin, and ukulele lessons as well. For children, pre-k through 8th grade, there are many theatre opportunities including drama, musical theatre and improv. An intensive workshop, “Connecting with the Camera”, is new for middle school and high school students. Visual arts include drawing, painting, cartooning, sculpting, vacation camps, and more. Dance enthusiasts will find ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop and tap classes. Martial arts classes are offered for the whole family, and craft, clay and dance birthday parties may also be reserved. 

There are many special performances and holiday activities scheduled, as well as a new season of live theatre events from Darien Arts Center Stage.  Special events at the DAC include performances of Scenes from the Nutcracker, the Martial Arts Tournament and Fundraiser, the Darien's Got Talent fundraiser, and the Annual Darien Art Show and Sale.

Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center (DAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. The DAC offers educational programs in Dance, Visual Arts, Music & Theatre, & special events & live theatre performances by DAC Stage.
