Darien YMCA Fall Program Registration Begins August 6th

Registration for the Darien YMCA’s fall programs begins Tuesday August 6th on a tiered schedule.  Priority registration for Y members who are currently enrolled in the summer session begins Tuesday, August 6th at 10am.  Darien Y members who are residents of Darien can register beginning Thursday, August 8th at 10am, Darien Y members who are not residents of Darien can register Tuesday, August 13th at 10am, and open registration to all non-members begins Thursday, August 12th.   The fall session is 13 weeks long and runs from August 26th to November 24th.  A brochure of the programs for this session is available on the Darien YMCA website, www.darien-ymca.org.

The Darien Y offers a variety of programs for youth and adults during the fall session.  The program offerings this fall for children include swimming classes for infants (parent and child classes), preschool and elementary age children and gymnastics classes for infants (mommy and me) through elementary school age.  Many different sports are offered for children this fall including Volleyball for 6th- 8th graders, Basketball for Kindergarten-8th graders, Futsal (indoor soccer) for children Pre-K-8th grade, Flag Football for 4th-8th graders and Baseball for 9-12 year olds. Other programs offered this fall for children include a Teen Fitness series of yoga, zumba and spin classes for 9 to 18 year olds, classes as well as sports conditioning for athletes 12 and older. The special needs classes offered include a number of swimming, sports, fitness and enrichment classes for all ages.

Adult classes offered that require registration include Pilates Reformer, Kettlebells, and adult swim classes. There are also classes for active older adults including Tai-Chi, Light n’ Easy, and Aqua Aerobics. There is no charge for members attending the other fitness classes which are considered drop-in.
