Maggie Pangrazio, Kids’ Theatre Director at the Darien Arts Center, is very excited about using her talents at the Musical Theatre Ensemble offered this fall at the DAC (arts.darien.org). The class, which will begin on October 17th, is open to children in grades 4 through 8. Pangrazio’s enthusiasm founded on her love of musical theatre and working with children, is anchored by her extensive theatrical background, which has allowed Pangrazio to continually nurture her “forte”.
Pangrazio has recently been involved in several local theatre productions and recently directed a production of “Dracula” for the Bridgeport Theatre Company. She has performed in nearly a dozen “Kids Shows” at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport and using her skills as a certified theatrical and special effects makeup artist, taught a master class on makeup at Curtain Call for Alice in Wonderland, a summer program for kids. She has also worked at Summer Arts at the Cabaret in Bridgeport, and Broadway Boot Camp in Southport.
Pangrazio has a degree in Music Theatre Performance and Communications from American University, where she graduated Cum Laude with University Honors. Raised in Fairfield, CT, Pangrazio was largely involved in theatre in her high school and has won several vocal competitions, including All-State and All-Eastern Choir Competitions.
“I am very excited to get started with The Musical Theatre Ensemble this fall. It will culminate into a toe-tapping performance featuring Broadway hits that span the years and it will be as much fun for the audience as the kids performing.” The final performance, “Time Travelin’ Teens!” will take place on January 18, and is based on a science experiment that goes very wrong; sending the students of Remedial Science 101 on a music filled adventure through time.
The Musical Theatre Ensemble will meet on Thursdays from 4-6pm from October 17 through January 18, 2014. To register for the Musical Theatre Ensemble, or for more information, go to arts.darien.org (Please note that start date and tuition has changed.) or call (203) 655-8683.
