New Fitness Offerings at the Darien Y

The Darien Y will be offering several new fitness programs this summer. The Mind, Body, Nature series is back by popular demand, offering outdoor Quigong and Yoga classes overlooking Holly Pond. There will be a Power Lifting workshop on June 21st, and a new Intro to Power Lifting program for small groups.

There will be three classes offered in the Mind, Body, Nature series; Quigong with Bill Wren on Mondays, and two yoga classes offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays taught by a rotation of instructors. These classes will run from June 2nd through August 31st, and will be held on the Y’s back lawn overlooking Holly Pond weather permitting. These classes are free to current members; non-members can purchase a $20 ClassPass at the Y’s front desk.

The Power Lifting Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 21st and is open to those ages 16 and over. The workshop is geared towards improving form, function, and overall performance, as well as teaching basic lifting safety. The workshop costs $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
