Whirlwind Divers Defend USA Diving Junior Region 1 Title

It’s beginning to sound like a broken record...The New Canaan YMCA Whirlwind Diving Team once again bested the competition to win the USA Diving Summer Junior Region 1 Championship Meet.

The meet was held at The College of New Jersey on 6/6-6/8/14.  It was a close meet as Whirlwind finished the team competition with 195 points, just 5 points ahead of the second place team, High Dive Champions.

In total, 271 divers competed, representing 21 teams from Region 1 of the United States.  The top 15 finishers in each event now advance to the July Zone meet in Buffalo,NY, a qualifier for the USA Diving Summer National Championships.
