YWCA Darien/Norwalk Alumni Cocktail Party Wednesday

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is extending an open invitation to past members for their first-ever Alumni Cocktail Party Fundraiser. The party will give friends that may have met through one of the many groups at the YW a chance to reunite and reminisce in a festive atmosphere. Many relocated locals have relied on the YW for an introduction to new friends for decades, and groups like Newcomers, Gourmet, and Playgroups have fostered countless friendships in the community.

Organizers of the party and committee members Karen Perry, Jennifer Sommer, Deirdre McGovern, Amy Fraser, Shannon Silsby and Susan Daly, invite all to contact old friends and take the opportunity to have a fun reunion and relive fond memories. "For many of us, the YWCA was an important part of our lives when we moved to town," stated Deidre McGovern. "Many new YW members moved on to serve on committees for fundraisers, galas and house tours. We thought it would be great to have a party where everyone could reconnect."

Another goal of the fundraiser is to welcome new ideas and to share in the vision of the future YW. "We would like to continue to meet the needs of our past members and provide programs that will benefit them going forward," said Interim Executive Director, Julie Forsythe. The YW would like to encourage any past or present members to contact old friends and invite them to the party, and would like to thank the title sponsor of this event, William Raveis Real Estate Mortgage and Insurance. The festivities will take place on Wednesday, April 9 at 7pm at a private residence in Darien. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased online at ywcadariennorwalk.org or by calling (203) 655-2535. Guests are asked to register online.
