Do's & Dont's for a Smooth "Push & Pull" Parade July 4th

The YWCA of Darien and Norwalk's Push& Pull Parade is scheduled for the morning of July 4th. Here are all the details you need to know ahead of time.

Here are some tips for participating in the Y.W.C.A. “Push and Pull Parade,” coming up Thursday, July 4th. 

According to the YWCA website, participants are encouraged to decorate themselves and their non-motorized vehicles -– anything from a scooter, to a trike, bike, or wagon -– and meet at the Goodwives Shopping Center by starting at 10 a.m. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. sharp.

Darien Police are advising motorists to avoid the downtown area during the parade due to traffic restrictions, which could cause possible delays.

After departing Goodwives Shopping Center, the parade route will proceed up Brookside Road, then take a left on the Post Road. The parade will continue westbound on the Post Road and make a right turn onto West Avenue. The parade route ends at Tilley Park.

The Post Road (Route 1) will be closed from Brookside Road to West Avenue.

Live music will be provided by Dirty Sock Funtime Band and refreshments will be available in Tilley Pond Park.
