I’ll Miss You, Glenview!

Glenview Patch Editor Joanna Schneider, who launched the site in September 2010, is moving to a new position with Patch. Northbrook Patch's talented Stan Golovchuk will take over the reins beginning Sept. 17.

When , I was filled with excitement to be joining such a strong, vibrant, involved community.

Two years later, I can look back and say without hesitation that this has been one of the most valuable (and fun!) experiences I've ever had. So, today is a bittersweet one as I announce that this week will be my last as editor.

I’ve seen to a community cornerstone and that’s something I’m very proud of. Thank you to everyone who has embraced Patch since the beginning—and has joined our community of readers and contributors along the way.

From posting announcements and calendar events, to sharing , and contributing as Local Voices, your engagement has made the site a useful and diverse community-gathering place.

The site will be in great hands with who will continue as the editor of Northbrook Patch and add Glenview to his arsenal beginning Monday, Sept. 17. Please welcome Stan and reach out to him with any questions, news tips or story ideas.

His e-mail: stan.golovchuk@patch.com; or give him a ring at 847.626.5618.

The other good news? I won’t be going far—I’m moving to a new position within the Patch family. I’ll be spreading the Patch love across the Midwest, working with around 200 sites in the Central Region (of more than 850 across the country) to help expand their network of active participants and bloggers.

Again, I can’t say thank you enough for sharing your stories and welcoming me into your lives and your community. This site has been my baby and an enormous part of my life the last few years.

From my day-to-day interactions with local business owners, passionate community members and dedicated officials to , and a slew of events around town, I’ve enjoyed meeting and collaborating with each and every one of you.

Make sure you’re staying in touch by Liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter. And don’t forget to sign up for our free, daily newsletter!

I hope to see you around town very soon.

All the best,
Joanna

Will this change affect the twitter account for Glenview Patch? I'm currently following it but it has your picture, Joanna, so I'm not sure if that means it's your own account or if it's going to stay Glenview Patch's account. Great job here, by the way! So nice to have a place to go to read about Glenviewcentric news! And let's not forget that Glenview Patch was instrumental in helping with moving the Tricia Pacaccio case forward! What a testament to how social media and blogging has made such a difference in this world. Thanks for being a part of it!

@KellyK, thanks so much for the supportive comments! It's always great to hear from readers who value what we're doing. Re: your question on social media, both the Glenview Patch Twitter and Facebook pages will stay the same and you'll continue getting all the local news updates you're used to. Stan, Glenview's new editor, will assume admin duties to those pages beginning Monday so his picture will replace mine shortly. Other questions? My title is changing but not my e-mail. Feel free to reach out any time: joanna@patch.com.

Best of luck in your new assignment, and thanks for the platform that you have built to provide Glenview news. I am also greatful for the contributiing forum in which your site has allowed for interactive collaborative sharing of news, information and opinion. I am especially appreciative of your support for the opportunity to share public safety information on emergency preparedness with residents in order to help them better protect themselves and their families in an emergency or a disaster. Stay safe and come back and visit often; at least virtually.

Thanks, Bob! Those sorts of comments are why my job is so rewarding. It was great working with you and I appreciate your involvement with the community and commitment to public safety. I hope you'll continue to share your voice with Glenview and Patch readers in the future.
