Fire Department Rescues Cat From Tree

Using a ladder truck, firefighters were able to pluck Mr. Chin from his perch nearly 40 feet in the air.

Cliché or not, the scenario was very real: forty feet separated a cat from the ground below.

Mr. Chin, the animal in question, had perched himself among the higher branches of a tree outside 14 Brookside Drive on Wednesday. Out of concern, his owner contacted firefighters asking for their assistance in getting him down.

The Darien Fire Department soon came to the rescue, arriving on the scene around 5:00 p.m. with a crucial piece of equipment: a ladder truck.
