Wednesday, Darien: Farmer's Market, Tequilla Day

Darien Farmer's Market runs today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Goodwives Shopping Center parking lot, 25 Old Kings Hwy. S.

Visit the American Red Cross “Save a Life” bus at 1 p.m. Thursday at Atria Darien, 50 Ledge Rd. to donate blood.

There's a sidewalk sale at Stamford's High Ridge Center (Exit 35 off the Merritt) from Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (And they've got a farmers market there every Sunday and Wednesday through October.)

If you're traveling on Interstate 95 between Darien and points west between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday evenings, expect lane closures through Aug. 23 for bridge joint replacement work, starting on the last bridge in Darien (over Brookside Road) and at two bridges in Stamford.

Celebrate National Tequila Day at Bodega Taco Bar in Darien. From the restaurant's Facebook page: "Wednesday, July 24th is National Tequila Day. Come by this evening and try a sample of paQui' - the newest addition to our high end Tequila offerings. paQui' means 'to be happy' in ancient Aztec tongue. [...] Thursday, July 25 is National Tequila Hangover Day ( we made this up). The perfect cure... 2 for 1 breakfast tacos all day & night."

UPDATE: Beware of closures: There will be Merritt Parkway lane closures Tuesday between exits 42 (in Westport) and 44 (Fairfield) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, click here.
