Week Ahead, Darien: Migraines Talk, Grease Is the Word

  • Dr. Eric Kung, director of Stamford Hospital's Headache Center (with a specialty in Neurology, pain medicine and pain management) will speak Tuesday, July 23, about symptoms, causes, and treatments for the migraine sufferer. His talk takes place at the Darien Senior Activities Center, 30 Edgerton St. Call ahead (203-656-7455), because space is limited. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon with the program beginning immediately after, at 12:30 p.m.
  • Summer Theater of New Canaan is putting on the musical "Grease" at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays -- as well as 3 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays -- through Aug. 11. The outdoor theater is located at the end of the New Canaan High School parking lot, on Farm Road.
  • Gathering of the Vibes music, arts & camping festival returns once again to the water’s edge at Bridgeport, Connecticut’s 370-Acre Seaside Park July 25-38 to celebrate its 18th year.
  • There's a sidewalk sale coming up at Stamford's High Ridge Center (Exit 35 off the Merritt) from Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (And they've got a farmers market there every Sunday and Wednesday through October.)
  • Every Rose Has Its Thorn ... and Bret Michaels is coming to the area this week. The former Poison frontman headlines Thursday's lineup at Stamford's "Alive @ Five" concert series downtown.
