A recent visit to Darien High School revealed one student's bold offer to take a girl to the Junior-Senior prom on May 17.
Hanging outdoors, above the student cafeteria, was the banner seen in the attached photo: "Claire, Prom?"
While not as dramatic as being lifted by a fire engine's ladder truck to present a prom invite, as one DHS student did last year (or as fraught with drama as one Shelton high school student's stunt with a banner he attached to a school wall without permission), the sign did the trick.
"She said 'Yes,'" Acting Principal Arlene Gottesman confirmed to Darien Patch.
The prom, to be held at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency, has "A Night in Paris" as its theme. Forms and payments are due in by 2:30 p.m. on May 1, or a late fee will be charged. To download the student registration form, click here. To download the Non-DHS student guest form, click here.
