DHS Tri-M Musicians Holiday Concert at Congregational Church

On Sunday, December 6, at 2 pm, Darien High School's Tri-M Music Honor Society will be putting on a charity concert hosted by First Congregational Church of Darien.  The concert will last an hour and will consist of band, orchestral, and choral musicians coming together to perform a variety of Christmas carols and medleys.  Although the concert is free, all goodwill donations will go to The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, which is Fairfield County's primary hunger relief organization.

In addition to supporting charity during the holiday season, the Christmas Concert will showcase a number of musicians in the DHS Music Honor Society group, Tri-M.  Led by band director Carolyn Whinnem, Tri-M stands for Modern Music Masters, and is made up of roughly 40 musicians at the High School.  The purpose of the organization is to not only cultivate a greater love and understanding of music, but to reach out to the community through student performances and activities.

The First Congregational Church of Darien is located at 14 Brookside Road, just off the Post Road. Sunday services are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.  For further information, visit www.uccdarien.org or call the church office at 203-655-0491.
