"It never ceases to amaze me how we are all given two eyes, one nose and one mouth arranged in an area of approximately six inches square and yet each one of us is unique," Jackson said. "Even 'identical' twins have subtle differences in expression and posture. As a portraitist, my challenge is to artistically capture the unique quality of each subject. I seek character first then features. In a half-hour oil sketch, I may have very little of the actual features resolved but the person is recognizable.

Jackson began her fine art training at a private girls academy, Holy Angels, in Demarest, N.J. After post graduate studies in Florence, Italy, where she lived for eight years, Jackson trained in classical portraiture and landscape art at Silvermine School in New Canaan under master George Passantino for three years. She has attended the School for Visual Arts in NYC, the National Academy, and workshops of today's greatest portrait painters including Richard Whitney, Igor Babailov, Michael Del Priore, Daniel Greene, Samuel Adoquei, Marvin Mattelson, Everett Raymond Kinstler, and John Howard Sanden.

Jackson is the founder and president emerita of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists. It was established in 2002 as an affiliate chapter of the American Society of Portrait Artists. This educational non-profit organization serves local portrait artists and patrons. The Portrait Society of America named Jackson its Connecticut Ambassador in 2004. In the spring of 2005, Jackson joined the winter faculty of the Cape Coral Art League in Florida.

The Greenwich Arts Council elected Ms. Jackson to their Board of Directors in June of 2009. She is published and has been featured in numerous magazines including Stamford Magazine, Signature Magazine, Artis, and NYArts Magazine.

Her government, corporate, equestrian and family portraits include current Connecticut Lt. Governor Michael Fedele, Newtown First Selectman Herbert Rosenthal, Retired USCG Capt. John McConnell, Ralph Giorgio, Gillian Pierce, The Neidharts and George Passantino.
