Weekend Calendar, May 27-30: Food, Fun, and Farm Animals

This Memorial Day weekend, Patch brings you some of the best in family fun in and around Darien:

Cairo Time

• When: Friday, May 27 at 7:30 pm
• Why go: Looking for a low-key way to start the weekend? Check out the love story 'Cairo Time,' at the Darien Library. The film, which stars Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig, chronicles the relationship between an American in Cairo and her policeman friend. Added bonus? Refreshments will be served.

• Where: , 50 West Ave, Darien
• When: Monday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Why go: Support your local EMS at Post 53's annual Tilley Pond Park fundraiser. Enjoy food, games, music and a silent auction.
• Price: $3 per person

• Where: , 120 Brookside Rd., Darien
• When: Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Why go: Get to know Darien's parks with the nature center's scavenger hunt. Families can pick up a map and packet of clues at the Nature Center. Follow the clues to the finish and you'll find a stamp to mark your passport. There will be an ice cream party to celebrate winners on June 5.

Down on the Farm

• Where: , 120 Brookside Rd., Darien
• When: Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Why go: Stop by the nature center's annual barnyard bash. Entertainment includes a petting zoo, pony rides, a concert and travel to the tree tops.
• Price: $25 per family

• Where: , 46 Southfield Ave., Stamford
• When: Saturday, May 28 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Why go: Check out Stamford's first floating music festival. Listeners can gather on boats as six bands will perform on a barge over the course of the day. Nearby boardwalks will also host live entertainment.
