Author Signing Book on Health Insurance Traps

Maura Carley, President and CEO, Healthcare Navigation, LLC,  will sign copies of her new book “Health Insurance: Navigating Traps & Gaps” on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m., at , 314 Heights Road, Darien, CT 06820. This event is free and open to the public.

The book details the devastating consequences of being ‘coverage illiterate’ as unfortunately millions of Americans are because their employer or spouse’s employer manages the process of providing healthcare coverage to them. The book also chronicles numerous personal stories of loss and heartbreak as a result of people losing their health insurance.  Most people are ill-prepared to deal with our complex and irrational health insurance system, with potentially disastrous results both financially and emotionally. Ms. Carley urges Americans to learn more about their healthcare coverage whether turning 26, facing divorce, the death of a spouse, retirement or retirement of a spouse, or going onto Medicare.

In 1999, Ms. Carley founded Healthcare Navigation, LLC, a patient advocacy and consulting firm in Darien, CT. Today, Healthcare Navigation has offices in New York City, Chicago and Denver in addition to Darien.  The corporate office is in Shelton, CT.
