A restaurant reviewer for Hearst Newspapers, just gave a glowing recommendation.
In a review just published by the Darien News, Melanie Barnard writes, "Service and menu here are just as surprisingly elegant and traditional as the setting."
The place has the feel of a "sophisticated tratorria in Italy," according to Barnard, and she likes the food, too—especially the stuffed artichoke and the seafood dishes. For more details, read the whole review.
In March, the a positive review in the New York Times, which said eating in the Darien restaurant is "like recapturing a memory of Italy, at a very reasonable price."
The Times reviewer, Patricia Brooks (who Estia's American), also praised the "diverse Northern Italian menu that delivers on most of its promises; and an elegant, welcoming interior."
Last March, the 8-month-old eatery participated in , which encouraged patrons to contribute a dollar to the charity when they asked for a glass of water at the restaurant.
