Last Call for SBC Stamford

The popular brewery and restaurant announces it is closing July 20.

The popular SBC Stamford Downtown has announced last call will be Sunday, July 20 — when it closes its doors after 14 years at the lower Summer Street location.

The view of stainless brewing vats through the windows of the 131 Summer St. restaurant will become a memory, according to the announcement staff posted on the SBC Facebook page.

"To our loyal Stamford friends and family, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that after 14 successful years, SBC Stamford Downtown will be closing its doors.

The inability to reach an amicable agreement with the landlord, coupled with the ongoing construction, has made us decide that this is the time to move on.

Thank you all for your support over the years and please join us as we go out in style all week long with a final going away party on Sunday July, 20."

The restaurant, that's part of the Southport Brewing Company with outposts in Southport, Milford and Branford, is planning a party week for the 131 Summer St. location. Since it's opening, it's attracted legions of fans with its casual menu — and, of course, its beer.

According to their FB post, "We are definitely going out with a BANG! Drink specials and huge parties booked all week...We welcome the Stamford Pub Run crew Wednesday night, Barenaked Ladies for Alive@5 and DJ JOnesy will close out Thursday night, Tina Markaki and crazy happy hour bookings for Friday, Saturday will close out with DJ Nomad, Sunday day will kick off with DJ Jonesy for our final Brunch and Beats, and lastly DJ Bamboo - Rob Cifre will close out the final night in style with Relax Sundays."

All gift cards will be honored at any other SBC Restaurant.
