CHELSEA PIERS CONNECTICUT ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH CT LAX AND KRISTIN WOODS CP LAX TRYOUTS TO BE HELD AT CPCT IN SEPTEMBER
Chelsea Piers Connecticut (CPCT) is thrilled to announce the addition of Kristin Woods to its list of exceptional coaches. Woods will serve as a coach and advisor for the Chelsea Piers Lacrosse Club (CP LAX) girls’ program. Woods will also coach various Chelsea Piers developmental and advanced clinics offered throughout the year.
In addition to joining the CPCT staff, Woods and Chelsea Piers have formed an alliance between the Chelsea Piers Lacrosse Club (CP LAX) and CT LAX, Connecticut’s premier girls lacrosse club program for youth girls. CT LAX, which Woods’ started in 2005 will continue to run its very successful club program for players in grades 5 – 7 (YOG 2019-2021), while CP LAX will run competitive teams for players in grades 8 – 11 (YOG 2015-2018). The CP LAX program is run by former Wilton HS All-American, UNC standout, and Fairfield University Graduate Assistant Coach, Caitlin Young.

This partnership creates the largest powerhouse for girls lacrosse in Fairfield County, providing excellence in coaching and development for female players throughout their lacrosse careers. CP LAX and CT LAX will work together to share resources, coaches and experience in order to create the area’s most dynamic competitive lacrosse program.

Woods has been affiliated with women’s lacrosse at every level, both as a player and coach, for the past decade, including a successful collegiate career at Penn State University, where she was a four-year letter winner and team captain during her senior year. Since founding CT LAX in 2005, Woods has been a prominent fixture in the Northeast lacrosse community and has served as a key mentor and coach for the next generation of Connecticut lacrosse players, including 29 All State and 46 All FCIAC players. Her overall record during the past seven seasons at the helm of the New Canaan High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Program is 119-30, including the 2010, 2012 and 2013 Connecticut State Championships. Additionally, Woods has received numerous individual honors, including 2008 and 2012 Connecticut Coach of the Year, as well as 2009 and 2012 FCIAC Coach of the Year.
