Murtuza Jafri Presented With 6th Annual Edward Tunick Business Scholarship

Edward Tunick, owner of Edward Tunick – men’s clothing store – in the Noroton Heights Shopping Center, is shown here congratulating and presenting a check for $1,000.00 to Murtuza Jafri, graduating senior at Darien High School.  Murtuza is the recipient of the sixth annual Edward Tunick Business Scholarship.  He will be attending the University of Connecticut in the Fall.

The check was presented by Edward Tunick to Murtuza Jafri on May 23rd in a ceremony at Darien High School and represents a portion of the tuxedo rental proceeds from the recent Junior and Senior Prom. This scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving Darien High School Senior involved in after-school work that demonstrates good work ethics and community service, and plans to pursue a career in business.  This is the 19th year that Edward Tunick has donated a percentage of the Prom tuxedo rentals.  To date, Tunick has donated well over $17,000.00 to Scholarship Funds associated with Darien High School.
