Darien Daughters of the American Revolution members, Karen K. Polett (center) and Katherine Love (right) joined Wreaths Across America owner, Karen Worcester at the Exit 40 Pilot Truckstop in Milford, CT where the Worcesters were distributing wreaths to all truckers who passed through this busy stop on November 26. The wreaths were affixed to the front of the trucks with the request that each of the truckers would remove the wreath and place it on the grave of a veteran in conjunction with the nationwide Wreaths Across America ceremony to be held at noon on December 14, 2013.
Members of Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission and Post 6933 VFW will host our local wreath laying ceremony in Darien's Spring Grove Veterans' Cemetery starting promptly at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 14. Local families are urged to attend. Plan to come early to help with the wreath placement.
