Support Darien in Wreaths Across America
Already, veteran support groups are out collecting money to place wreaths on all of the Darien Veterans graves. Nicky Wildish and James Fox from the “Support Our Soldiers” club at Darien High School assisted Daughters of the American Revolution volunteers receive donations from customers of the Darien Doughnut store. This was part of the large collection drive for the Darien Veteran’s Cemetery’s participation in “Wreaths Across America”.
The mission of Wreaths Across America, “Remember, Honor, Teach” is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington, as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states, ceremonies at sea, and 24 national cemeteries on foreign soil. All ceremonies will take place at noon on Saturday December 14th this year(See more at: http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org) The community is invited to attend and participate in the touching laying of wreaths ceremony.
