Ever get tired of eating the same thing for lunch?

Matthew 25:35 'For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me'

I must admit that I sometimes moan that they're aren't enough good places to buy lunch in midtown Manhattan. It's a ridiculous thing to say and just thinking about it now I feel awful when I consider all those people around the world that are starving. This weekend is an exciting time for the town of Darien. Together with an organization called 'Feed my Starving Children', the church community is coming together to pack food for those who need it most. The event is in its fourth year and is not only a wonderful way to bring a community together to help those in need but it's also a wonderful outreach event to those that may not know God. We don't know where the food is going but that's in God's safe hands. By the end of the weekend, everyone involved in the event is normally exhausted but hugely joyful and grateful for the opportunity to serve and glorify God. And probably even more grateful to live in a place where food is readily available.

Heavenly Father, we lift up the event this weekend to you. Surround it in your love and may the town of Darien grow stronger in their faith toward you. Bless the food that is packed and prepare a place where it is most needed' - Amen!
