Darien's annual Memorial Day parade will take place on Monday, May 28 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will start at the and proceed down the Post Rd. to the Soldier's Monument in the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery. A ceremony will be held at the cemetery following the parade. World War II vet John Geoghegan will serve as this year's grand marshall.
The annual Food Fair will take place, as it always does, at on West Ave. across from the train station right after the parade ends. The fair will go until 3 p.m. The entry fee is $5, children two and under may go in for free. Earnings from the fair will benefit Darien's Post 53 volunteer medical service.
