Darien Public Schools are on a two-hour delay due to the Wednesday morning's mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, according to its Web site.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory will remain in effect in Southern Connecticut until 4 p.m. on Wednesday. An additional snow accumulation of up to one inch of snow along with a tenth of a quarter to an inch of ice is expected before transition to freezing rain and sleet later in the morning.
Wednesday's temperature in Darien will reach a high near 38 with northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the morning.
