Darien Library Flooded After Pump Fails

The library was expected to reopen around 2 p.m., however the basement level was to remain closed, according to a report in The Darien Times.

Correction: This article originally stated that a firefighter had told the Darien Times that the water was deep enough for someone to swim in. In fact, library officials have said, the water never rose above two inches above the floor anywhere in the basement.
