Darien Sports Doctor Inducted into Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame

Darien sports doctor Michael Schwartz has been inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame for his efforts in developing safety measures for the sport.

Darien sports doctor — who has treated many professional boxers in his career — has been inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame for his efforts in developing new safety measures for the sport, according to published reports.

As a result of Dr. Schwartz’s efforts, serious health problems as a result of the sport have declined in the state, according to a report in CT Post.

Dr. Schwartz is the founder of the American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the health and safety of professional boxers and mixed martial arts athletes.
