Darien Students to Perform in Macy's Parade

The children will be performing an original number created especially for the Parade's landmark 85th Anniversary.

Darien's Alexandra Burke, Hannah Caldwell and Carson Stewart will be among the 140 Stagedoor Manor students from all over the world who will sing and dance the opening number for this year's , according to a report.

The children will be performing an original number created especially for the Parade's landmark 85th Anniversary, the report states. Following the performance they will march the entire length of the Parade, “eventually escorting Santa Claus into Herald Square for the NBC national telecast's finale,” the report states.

This is reportedly the third year in a row that children from Stagedoor Manor will perform in the parade, set to air nationally on NBC-TV from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST on Thursday, November 24.

More than 400 Stagedoor Manor students applied for the opportunity to participate in the Parade, but only 140 were selected, the report states.

The participants will meet in New York City just three days before the Parade to learn the entire routine in a 24-hour rehearsal period.
