Fire Log: One Residence, Four Alarms

Firefighters also responded to three motor vehicle accidents last week.

MONDAY, APRIL 11

Accident/Fluid Leak: A motor vehicle accident/fluid leak brought the to the northbound ramp of I-95 exit 10 around 8:20 a.m.

Accident/Fluid Leak: Around 5:53 p.m., the responded to a motor vehicle accident/fluid leak at Post Road and Oberlander Place.

Fire Alarm: A fire alarm was triggered around 11:33 a.m. at 165 Long Neck Point Rd., but the call was canceled by the alarm company.

TUESDAY, APRIL 12

Fire Alarm: Construction work being performed at 165 Long Neck Point Rd. triggered a second fire alarm around 9:57 p.m., bringing the t to the residence.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13

Fire Alarm: Construction work being performed at 165 Long Neck Point Rd. triggered a third fire alarm around 3:30 a.m., summoning the NFD to the scene.

Fire Alarm: Around 7:21 a.m., the DFD responded to a fire alarm at the (4 Butlers Island Rd.).

THURSDAY, APRIL 14

Fire Alarm: The DFD, NFD, and NHFD were all called to 541 Hoyt St. around 10:14 a.m. when contractors working at the site accidentally triggered the fire alarm.

Fire Alarm: Overcooked food at 58 Greenleaf Ave. set off a fire alarm around 9:02 p.m., bringing the NHFD to the scene.

SATURDAY, APRIL 16

Fire Alarm: Construction work being performed at 165 Long Neck Point Rd. triggered a fourth fire alarm around 10:28 a.m., summoning the NFD to the scene.

SUNDAY, APRIL 17

Fire Alarm: Around 2:51 a.m., the DFD responded to a fire alarm at the Goodwives Stop & Shop (25 Old Kings Hwy. N).

Accident/Injury: A motor vehicle accident/injury brought the DFD to I-95 North near exit 14 around 3:32 a.m.

From April 11-17, Darien firefighters were also called to respond to:

  • 3 cancelled fire alarms
  • 2 malfunctioning fire alarms
  • 2 malfunctioning carbon monoxide alarms
