Five Things to Know About Darien, March 23

Hoyt Street Rejection: The Planning and Zoning Commission rejected Chris and Margaret Stefanoni's Hoyt Street Senior Residences proposal Tuesday but approved a heavily modified version of the project. The decision mirrors one from two weeks earlier on the couple's proposed Tokeneke Senior Residences. Both decisions are likely to face legal challenges by the couple under state statute 8-30g.

Cold and Wet: A mix of snow, sleet, and rain is expected to continue off and on through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The best chance for accumulation is the overnight period, with 1 to 3 inches of snow possible.

Children's Book Drive: As part of its One Book, One Community program, the — in conjunction with — from March 23 to April 6. Film Screenings: Also taking place today at the Darien Library are two film screenings. King Lear will be shown at 2 p.m. as part of the library's Wednesday Matinee Film Series, and Thirteen Days will be shown at 7 p.m. as part of the One Book, One Community program.

Beauty and the Beast: Time is running out to purchase tickets for the DHS Theatre 308 spring musical, . The production goes up Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 25 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, March 26 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
