Items Go Missing from Darien Home, Recovered in Norwalk

A burglary was reported on Talmadge Hill Road after several items reportedly disappeared from inside a home there, police said this week.

According to Det. Mark Cappelli, a complainant noticed at approximately 10:14 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, that his iPad, briefcase and wallet were missing.

The items were in his homes and there were no signs of forced entry, Cappelli said. The items were last seen at around 8 p.m the night before, the homeowner said.

All of the items were in close proximity to the rear door, Cappelli said, and the homeowner couldn't recall if he'd locked the door, though there was no visible damage to gain entry.

An investigation led authorities to an apartment on Elmcrest Terrace in Norwalk. The incident remains under investigations and no arrests have been made, but the items were recovered there. The police department remains in possession of the items.

The iPad was valued at $600, the briefcase at $300 and the wallet at $200.
