Lawyers for Mary Cashman filed divorce papers in state Superior Court in Stamford on Friday, according to various reports.

Update, Saturday, Feb. 4:

Brian Cashman's wife, Mary Cashman, filed for divorce in Stamford on Friday, the day after the arrest of a woman who shookdown the New York Yankees General Manager by threatening to go to the press about their relationship.

According to an unnamed source cited by the Associated Press, Cashman and his wife have been living apart for a year. Cashman owns a home in Darien.

A New York woman who harassed, stalked and shook down New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman received $6,000 from him before she was arrested Thursday, a prosecutor told a Manhattan judge at her arraignment.

Lawyers for the woman, Louise Neathway, 36, said Cashman, who has a home in Darien, had an "inappropriate relationship" with her, according to an Associated Press report. She was charged with larceny, harassment and stalking, according to the criminal complaint filed with the court.

Neathway has a crimnal history with arrests on similar charges, according to a New York Post article.
