Pictures: RTC Headquarters Grand Opening

The Darien Republican Town Committee held the Grand Opening of its election headquarters, Oct. 3.

The Post Road was awash with red, white, blue—and pink, this past weekend. The Darien Republican Town Committee held the Grand Opening of its election headquarters Saturday afternoon, on the heels of Stamford Hospital’s “Mile of Pink” rally through downtown Darien.

For the next month, the RTC headquarters at 1094 Post Road will serve as the heart of the Republican campaign machine. It’s a place where residents and voters can engage the candidates and speak about the issues, and where volunteers will pass out literature and man the phones.

“We warmly welcome one and all to stop by and join the festivities,” said RTC Chairman Harry Artinian.

Spirits were high Saturday afternoon as candidates, elected officials and their supporters gathered in celebration of the RTC’s new, albeit temporary, home.

"Let's win this by a landslide," said Artinan, before introducing the candidates.

First Selectman candidate Dave Campbell and running mate Jerry Nielsen were in attendance, decked out in bright pink breast cancer awareness tee-shirts (Jayme Stevenson was visiting her daughter at college).

State Representative Terrie Wood, former State Representative John Ryan, and former First Selectman Bob Harrel were also in attendance.
